Make your own teeth- 1st class

First we examined our teeth using small mirrors. In pairs we discussed the size,shape and number of teeth.

Then we watched a video which explained the structure of the tooth, the names of the different teeth, their different shapes and what they are used for and where in the mouth they are found

We then read a piece in our workbook ad learned about baby teeth, adult teeth and how many teeth we all have. As a fun activity we looked at a powerpoint which showed different fun facts about teeth.

Using the mirror as a guide we all drew a diagram of our teeth in our copies and labelled the different teeth:












After finishing our diagrams we used these to help us make a set of teeth using plasticine. We worked in pairs and used 2 colours- 1 for the gums and 1 for the teeth. We rolled out a snake like shape and used this for the gums and the we created the teeth. We were careful to remember that the teeth had to be different shapes as they all do different jobs.
